“As an 87-year old lifetime resident of Bourbon County, it is my great honor to endorse Allison Cox as a candidate for the executive judge's position. Bourbon County is a wonderful place to live, and over the years it has experienced great success in many areas, drawing many families to our great community. That was the case with the Cox Family when they first moved here more than 20 years ago. They immediately became involved with schools, churches and many other neighborhood activities.
Allison has served as president and in numerous leadership roles within our community clubs, including our county library, museum and has even volunteered as a teacher in both schools and community classes. She has even worked with committees to help develop a scholarship for the youth in our community.
Due to her outstanding leadership qualities, Allison was inspired to run for County Judge Executive. From the moment she filed she has taken the time to observe our court system along with staying engaged with events across our great county. Allison has dedicated countless hours listening to the voices of our residents, attending meetings with neighborhood groups and gathering input on what matters most to them. She has developed and ‘sold’ to the public theatre productions that toured nationally. Grant writing, logistically planning, and contract negotiations involving performers, laborers, and their respective unions were all part of Allison’s professional duties.
Locally, while raising her three children, Allison has been a familiar face in organizations throughout Bourbon County. She has served on the board, and as President of the Hopewell Museum - Historic Bourbon County. Volunteered in multiple roles at St. Marys School and Bourbon County High School, and funded the oral history project at the Bourbon County Library. These just scratch the surface of Allison’s extensive involvement in our community. Allison is the daughter of a Marine and a military mom herself. She is a patriot with a strong sense of duty and firsthand knowledge of what it means to sacrifice for your country. Allison is passionate about both children and seniors. She has an abundance of empathy and concern for our most vulnerable citizens.
