The campaign highlights the importance of keeping local dollars in the community and ensuring Bourbon County benefits from economic growth across the region. Cox pledges to stop raising occupational taxes every year for local business owners.
Cox also states she will never agree to economic projects that include the use of land condemnation or eminent domain on prime Bourbon County farmland.
Addressing Affordability For Families
With rising costs impacting housing, rent, healthcare, utilities and childcare, Cox pledges to fight for practical solutions that lower costs and raise wages. The campaign stresses the need for responsible county budgets and policies that help families stay in their homes, care for their loved ones and plan for a stable future within the Bourbon County community. Cox states that the brave men and women who serve our community as law enforcement and other first responders must be fully supported and made confident of the county’s ongoing commitment to providing good wages and resources.
Investing In and Supporting Strong Public Education
Public Education is a central pillar of Allison Cox’s platform. The campaign calls for stronger support of public schools including advocating for competitive teacher pay, seeking expanded career and technical education opportunities that prepare students for advanced education in college, skilled trades, the military or the workforce right here in Bourbon County. “I am the product of good quality Kentucky public education and my husband Doug and I chose to raise our three children in beautiful Bourbon County and educate them in our local public county and independent city high schools. When we invest in our schools, we invest in the future success and prosperity of Bourbon County,” says Cox. “Every child in Bourbon County deserves a safe and quality education in public schools.”
